Bill Wall Leather, BWL (by Bill Wall)
Bill Wall's Early Life
It takes a biker to understand what a biker wants to wear and look like. For Bill Wall, understanding what it meant, culturally and artistically to be a biker was second nature. Before his foray into the world of design in 1985, Bill Wall worked on a fishing boat, dabbled in part time acting and construction. Following an accident in which he broke his foot, Bill Wall lost all his jobs and joined the ranks of the unemployed.
Following Bill Wall’s injury, the temporarily home-bound artist began to experiment with fabrics. Bill Wall obtained a machine, got together some scrap fabric and began stitching designs, the first of which was a motorcycle. Recognizing that he possessed a rare talent in the field, Bill Wall decided to make designing his permanent livelihood. With budget being a major constraint, Bill was able to purchase only scrap pieces of leather and cloth, stitch them together and incorporate designs over the stitches; a technique which ironically revolutionized new styles of jeans. It was during this period that Bill Wall discovered the lack of functional, fashionable riding gear in the market, and set out to create a fashion identity which bikers could be proud to show the world.
The Birth of Bill Wall Leather
From that point on, Bill Wall never looked back. Somewhere along the way, Bill Wall began collaborating with a close friend and client: the legendary biker jewelry designer Gabor Nagy to develop the full complement of biking gear. Under the influence of Gabor Nagy, Bill Wall began his venture into the world of sterling silver biker jewelry, which he pioneered alongside the legendary Gabor Nagy. The collaboration eventually led to Bill Wall creating his own line of sterling silver rocker jewelry (biker jewelry), Bill Wall Leather or BWL, which is often compared to the vastly popular Chrome Hearts label. Although similarities between BWL and other leading brands such as Gaboratory, Chrome Hearts, Bill Wall Leather, Room 101, Nagual, SoulFetish, Crazy Pig, Tony Creed, Double Cross, Heavy Magic, One Too Many, Stanley Guess, ‘Til Death .925, Imperial Rose Collections in terms of pricing and design have been noticed by the industry, Bill Wall Leather’s jewelry retains its own unique character and mood.

Replica Bill Wall Leather jewelry at its best, exists in the form of AAA grade replica Bill Wall Leather jewelry and “closely inspired by Bill Wall Leather” jewelry which recreates the overall look of the original. Such top grade fake Bill Wall Leather jewelry is manufactured from the same pure 925 sterling silver used in original Bill Wall Leather jewelry. In addition the replicas are practically indistinguishable. Some Bill Wall Leather fakes even come in the exact same designer boxes provided by Bill Wall Leather (we respect copyright laws, and we never do that!) Given the manufacturing genius of offshore manufacturers, generating replica Bill Wall Leather jewelry and boxes has been a piece of cake. Today, replica Bill Wall Leather pieces may be purchased over the web at a tiny fraction of the retail price. Competitors are able to offer AAA grade replicas at a huge discount because of cheaper offshore material and manufacturing costs in Asia, where wages and land costs are less than a tenth of that in the US. Since these Bill Wall Leather replicas are also made from the same sterling 925 silver that Bill Wall Leather uses, they feel, look and weigh almost identical to the original Bill Wall Leather product, offering fans the same satisfaction at a tiny fraction of the price.
Fans of sterling silver are waking up to the reality of brand illusion. After all, they’re fans of sterling silver; not fans of brands, and brand is an exorbitant premium which customers cannot always be expected to pay for. Given the availability of these cheaper but equally attractive offerings, it is little wonder that Bill Wall Leather designs aren’t an uncommon sight on the streets despite its luxury brand pricing. The sentiment is: why bust the bank on Bill Wall Leather when you can get a near identical look, feel and product at a tiny fraction of the price?
